Assistant Professor
MAE 207. Cooperative Control of Multi-agent Systems
Instructor:
Sonia Martínez,   EBU-I 1205, Ph: 858-822-4243, email: soniamd at ucsd dot edu
Lecture Schedule and Class:
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:00pm to 3:30pm, SSB 106
Office Hours:
Tues 3:40 pm - 4:40 pm at EBU-I 1205, or by appointment
Course topics:
Matrix and graph theory (basic notions,
algorithms and algebraic tools), distributed algorithms on synchronous
networks, distributed linear algorithms, models and complexity notions
for robotic networks, connectivity maintenance and rendezvous algorithms,
deployment algorithms, advanced motion coordination algorithms.
Prerequisites:
Linear algebra. Knowledge of nonlinear dynamical systems and linear
control systems will be a plus, but not strictly necessary.
Textbook and course material:
The textbook is a
collection of lecture notes being developed by the instructor in
collaboration with professors Francesco Bullo and Jorge Cortés. Copies
will be made available to all students enrolled in the class.
Syllabus:
Grading:
The class will be entirely project-oriented (no exams) and the students are
strongly encouraged to choose a project that is relevant to their research area.
Please consult with me no later than week 7 of the course to determine your project.
Suggested homeworks:
Some homework problems with be suggested in class. It won't be necessary to
turn them in. If you have doubts about how to solve a homework problem,
we can meet to discuss it. In order to master the material of the course,
it is strongly recommended that you do the homework problems.
